NYS were asked if they wanted to pass an amendment to the NYS constitution,
to change V.3 - to establish a Superintendent of Public Works and the powers and terms of that office, and to abolish the offices of Canal Commissioners
as proposed by the NYS Legislature
And the voters said: Yes!
