State Constitutional Amendment
NYS were asked if they wanted to pass an amendment to the NYS constitution,
to add VII.7-a - to allow the construction of a particular highway in the forest preserve, in the provision that forest preserves be kept forever wild
as proposed by the NYS Legislature
And the voters said: Yes!

VII.7-a proposed for 1934
Article VII: State Finance; Forest Preserve; Canals • Section 7-a: State to construct a highway in Hamilton county.
Nothing contained in section seven of this article, shall prevent the state from constructing a state highway in Hamilton county from Indian Lake to the village of Speculator by way of the existing highway whenever practical.
